Wes preaches the Gospel in a way where all can understand what is being said so that all can grow in their walk with the Lord. So many have never been taught about who they are in Christ, and so they struggle to overcome temptation and are desperate for a purpose. Wes is most excited when someone “gets it” and they begin to understand the sacredness of all of life and to live their new identities in Christ. He leads and teaches from the perspective of identity always determines behavior, not vice versa.
Wes is a graduate of both Ouachita Baptist University and Southwestern Seminary. He currently has been serving as the lead pastor at Hulen Street Church in Fort Worth, Texas since 2010. Wes has a great love for the local church, and serving at Hulen Street is one of his greatest passions in his life. He focuses his ministry there on teaching the Word of God, leading the church to pray and equipping believers for the work of ministry. When Wes has free time, you can typically find him reading, training for a marathon or watching his beloved baseball team, the Texas Rangers. Wes loves to call himself a “food-snob.” He and his wife Lesley have two children named Jake and Elle.
“Wes is extremely consistent. He preaches the truths found in Scripture clearly and has led thousands of students into a genuine relationship with Jesus. Even though for the last 10+ years he has been faithfully leading “big church”, he still believes in in next-gen stewardship giving some of his time each year to lead students.” – J. Roger Davis
