Austin is the lead pastor of The Commons Church in East Lansing, MI near the campus of Michigan State University. The Commons Church is part of the Salt Network, a family of churches whose mission is to plant multi-generational churches in major university contexts all over North America. Prior to leading The Commons, Austin spent over 12 years leading college ministries in Texas and Iowa. He is a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Austin and his wife Lesley, are originally from Texas. They have a son named Judah and a daughter named Rosie Grace (and hopefully more kids to come).
Austin’s passion is to see people transformed by the gospel and engaged in God’s mission. When Austin has free time, you can typically find him reading, playing basketball, wrestling with his kids, or watching an MSU basketball game!
